Trampoline Adventures

Hey there – hoping your weekend was wonderful.  Ours was full.  We putted around the house Saturday getting some things put away.  We’d also finally for the trampoline set up after the kids had been hounding me.  We even put the net on which I think was the problem.

We took my parents in town for dinner for my mom’s birthday.  It looked like  a storm might blow through when we left, and when we left the restaurant, we could tell it rained.  That is all we knew… we missed the whole thing.

So then we came home, and I saw some of the boxes I’d emptied were blown away, so I sent the boys to pick them up.  That was when we noticed the trampoline was gone.  No where to be seen.

David took off up over the hill – and we couldn’t see it anywhere.  Greg called my mom – who had helped up put it up – and told her it was gone.  Her first reaction was, that isn’t a very nice joke Greg.  Winking smile

They came over and drove through the pasture next to us, and eventually found the tramp.

Hmm… is that it?

Sure enough – there is was in the bottom of a coulee.  It was about 1 mile from the house, following the power line the whole way there.  I am amazed that it didn’t end up IN the power line.

We got it loaded up on the trailer and hauled back to the house.  So much for the trampoline.

On the one hand I wish we had been there to witness this – I can’t imagine how it flew.  But on the other hand, I think ignorance was bliss as we ate our dinner.

A couple of the legs were busted, and most of the springs are gone, but the trampoline part and the net are still in tack, one small hole in the net.

Oh the adventures we enjoy.

Our Living Room

Hey – sorry for the absence.  I was originally thinking that I would wait until I had each room 100% like I wanted it before I revealed them on here.  HA!  It’s never going to be 100% done, and it’s also going to be a long time until I feel it’s even close.  Plus I have lots of ideas.
So, I decided to show rooms as they are and when I finish the projects and ideas I have, I’ll update them.  So here is our living room, as it is now.
Living ROom 4
One of the biggest things left to do is hang pictures.  We have some really nice prints we got for Christmas 7 years ago!!  They are still in the package, and have wrapping paper on them.  We just never got them framed, but we are now and they will hang up above the brown couch.  I am not sure what I want above the TV.  Ideas are appreciated.
Living room 3
When I planned the living room, I wanted built in shelves and cupboards in this little nook area.  I still want that, it’s just going to be one of the very last things.  However, we put our small living room table here and it looks nice.  I’ve added some of my decorations and I love how it turned out.
Living Room 2
The only new thing we picked up is the welcome to the ranch sign.  The rest are things we’ve had in various parts of the house.  The old-looking record player is a working one from Cabella’s.  The older yellow one is just for decoration.   We got the old window as a wedding gift, made by a friend of ours.
living room 5
Here is my jar basket  that I made HERE.  Just a few decorations for this corner.
living room 1
This is the other side of the room, facing the road.  I just picked up the curtains and rod on Tuesday.
Nothing else is new in the house.  We’ve acquired the furniture over the years, the green couch matches one my Grandpa has – he didn’t need the smaller one.  The other two came from a local furniture store.  The end tables, couch table and tv stand all came from Walmart.  I ordered them online and had to put them together and they are very good quality stuff.  I’m impressed.
Thanks for stopping – I’m hoping to have the master bedroom and bath ready for you shortly.

Hey–Someone COULD live here.

IMG_8966

We moved in most of our big furniture this last few days.  Well, mostly on the 4th.  Great way to spend a holiday huh?  This is the living room.

IMG_8390

Quite the contrast huh?

We are starting to set up some of the things in the bedrooms, and as you can see here in the front room.  I plan to do some full room reveals as we get them done.  I’m hoping to get the bathrooms ready for a linky party on the 17th.

Just thought I’d pop in and share a sneak peek.

Bus Ride

IMG_8876We had some family here for the weekend before the 4th.  How do you transport all of those people when they want to go together to see something.

IMG_8878

We all loaded on and found our seats.

First time riders were paired up with the novice.  This meant lots of giggles.

But down the road we went.

IMG_8884

Lots of clover in bloom.  I enjoy the smell but it’s bothering the kids allergies.

IMG_8886

We are pretty close to our destination.

IMG_8889

We were greeted but the welcoming committee.

Then the kids were led out to the barn.

IMG_8892

That is where we were able to check in on the 4H lambs.

And then we had to discuss the ways of the world before we headed home.
